~ Being Thankful ~

Some of you may know that I spent last week in San Diego visiting family and friends.  I am originally from San Diego, although I’ve lived in Seattle for a decade now.  I spent time with my grandma, father, my oldest friend from childhood, lots of kids and even saw a few friends from high school that I hadn’t seen for 20 years (boy that makes me feel old!)  I have so much to be thankful for - great friends and a great family, but I am especially grateful this year for my home.  It is small and has way to much animal hair in it, but it is also warm and safe.  Lily and I played out in the front yard the other day to take our ‘holiday photos’ and her little red shoes made me think of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.  There is no place like home…

Engagement Session ~ Jennifer & Kevin

Sunday, I met with Kevin & Jennifer for their e-session.  They brought their sweet pups Hercules and Tigger along too!  We started at Pike Place Market and Post Alley, headed over to Olympic Sculpture Park and ended the afternoon up at Kerry Park.  It was freezing up there, but absolutely GORGEOUS!  Here are a few of my faves from the day - thanks for a fun day you guys - I’m looking forward to next September!

~ Maggie ~

Saturday, I headed down South to meet 5 month old Maggie & her parents for some photos in their home.  This little miss is the cutest with her natural ‘fauhawk’!  She was such a trouper with all of my ideas & outfit changes.  This family is beautiful & I am so happy to have met them.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day…

~ Liam ~

Last Sunday, I headed down to Olympia to meet with 5 month old Liam and his super cool parents.  We played with bubbles and blocks and wrapped him up in some holiday lights and ornaments.  What a sweet drool face this little one is - thanks for a great afternoon you guys!

~ Petrina ~

Last Saturday, I met Petrina for her boudoir session in her home.  She is looking forward to giving her husband these photos as a extra special birthday present this year.  We had a lot of fun and I think she looks just beautiful.  Thank you Petrina for allowing me to share just a few of your photos here!

~ A family in Woodinville ~

My 2nd family session last Saturday started at Chateau Ste. Michelle - the Fall leaves spread over their grounds are just gorgeous!  Sarah and her brother John were SO ready to make a pile of those leaves to jump in, which we did for sure, but first mom (Kelly) and dad (Anthony) gathered together with the kids for some family portraits.  It wasn’t long though before we were on the ground giggling and having fun finding lady bugs in the grass.  We then headed across the street to The Willows Lodge where the family dressed in their holiday flair for more portraits and a walk on the equally beautiful lodge grounds.  I had a lot of fun with Sarah twirling her ‘princess dress’ and with John while he chased the Canadian geese.  Here are a few of my favorites…

~ The Ursino Family ~

I woke up Saturday morning to the pouring rain and thought that both of my family portrait sessions scheduled for the day were doomed.  Luckily, mother nature pulled a fast one and gave us a really beautiful day for photos after all!

I started the morning down at Coulon Park with the Ursinos.  This is our second year together for portraits and the girls are getting to be such ladies!  They were so much fun to play with and although the grass was muddy we still jumped and ran and giggled.  I really enjoy this family - here are a couple of my faves from their session…

~ It’s a boy! ~

Remember a couple months ago when I had a ‘belly session’ with Andy & Drea?  Well he’s here!  7 days old today and cute as can be.

~ Miss Kirsten ~

Wednesday, I had big fun with Kirsten & her cool mom, Stacey.  Kirsten is turning 12 next week - she is a 4H grrl & introduced me to her bunny ‘Nefertiti’ & to her sweet play set.  After goofin’ in the backyard, we went up to her room.  As soon as I saw the enormous pile of stuffed animals, I thought of that scene in E.T. when he hid in the kid’s closet - loved it!  We then headed out into their neighborhood - there was a church nearby with some lawns covered with leaves.  We happened to show up just has three men with leaf blowers were cleaning up.  Kirsten (with a little coaching from mom) ran over to them and they blew a TON of leaves on her - after their big pile was made, she jumped right in.  Lastly, we headed over to Luther Burbank park where Kirsten played her guitar a little.  I just love how her toes curl up when she’s concentrating!  Kirsten is made of awesome & I am so happy to have met her.  Thanks for a great day you guys!

Engagement session ~ Adrian & Ana

Adrian & Ana began their romance while working on a project at the Danny Woo International District Community Gardens so it was the perfect place to start our e-session last Sunday.  After playing around the garden for awhile, we headed over to Gasworks - another favorite place for the couple - just in time to catch some sun breaking through the clouds.  Adrian & Ana are having their reception next summer at the ‘bathhouse’ at Golden Gardens Beach so we headed down there to try and catch the sunset.  The stormy skies didn’t allow for anymore sun, but it was fun to be in the skinny trees when they have no leaves - freezing, but fun!  Thanks for a fun day Adrian & Ana - we’ll have more fun (and a lot more warmth) at the beach together next summer!
