Colleen’s Boudoir…

While it poured rain outside yesterday, Colleen made a little ’steam’ inside for our session.  This will be a surprise gift for her fiance (sshhh, don’t tell) when they marry next month.  After some fun in his office, the rain stopped long enough for us to go outside under their gorgeous tree.  Thanks for a great session Colleen and thanks for letting me show just a few of your beautiful photos!

~ Catherine & Floyd ~

Yesterday was warm and beautiful, just like the energy at Catherine & Floyd’s lovely home in Everett. Family had flown in from around the country to witness their union. I love being at weddings where there is such a strong feeling of closeness amongst the family and guests and this was such a great group of folks! After their vows were exchanged, we moved outside to take a few family formals in their backyard then went in to have some yummy cake and to listen to some tender (and funny) toasts. Both Catherine & Floyd work for Boeing, so we then headed over to the Museum of Flight to capture the view of the runway and then headed down to the Mukilteo Lighthouse to cool down at the waterfront and to capture some romantic moments between the newlyweds. Huge thanks to Jennifer Wade for being an awesome assistant. Thank you for a great day Catherine & Floyd - I wish you nothing but the best!

“The Aitch” Rules!!

One of my most anticipated days this summer was meeting my flickr friend “The Aitch” & her sweet family for a photo session at the beach. We started talking about meeting each other while they were here in Seattle for vacation earlier this Spring and I got so excited about it that the day I actually met them, I felt SO nervous inside! We met at Golden Gardens for some sand & water play and then headed over to the Ballard Locks for fish n’ chips and a romp on the lawn. My Lily LOVED their wee ones….she talked about them non stop for about a week after. What a super day - I knew I’d love them. The Aitch rules!

A stop between her travels…

Earlier this week, I had SO much fun taking some portraits of Candace, a photographer who has traveled to more 50 countries. She is in the process of building her website and was looking for some portraits to be used on the new site. We found an empty lot with a ton of broken glass and scattered trash in addition to a super cool building just a few blocks away. I can’t wait to see how she uses the photos, to see her work and to share her website with all of you! Here are a few of my favorites - isn’t she beautiful?!

~ Mariah & David ~

Earlier this month, I had the great opportunity to work with Jackie Donnelly at a lovely wedding at Bethany Baptist Church in Puyallup. Mariah & David were so sweet with each other and their wedding party was so much fun! I especially loved it when the groomsmen sat on the statue of Jesus and the groom gave him a smooch and later when the bride and her bridesmaids gave us some “attitude”! I wish this sweet couple the very best and thanks to Jackie for inviting me along!

We’re havin’ a heat wave…

Yesterday, Seattle was HOT. Not the kind of heat I lived in San Diego with, but without air conditioning in most homes and with a pretty high level of humidity, it’s pretty darn hot! So my friend Rachel and I packed up the kids and found a great fountain park in Ballard yesterday. Lenox, Logan and Lily had a blast running through the water and teasing us with splashes - I especially love how Lily and Lenox seem airborne. We even bumped into Chris & Nicholas who were out trying to beat the heat too. What a fun, albeit sweaty, day!

I’m blushing, but I’m still going to share…

Melissa sent me this ‘testimonial’ today so I thought I’d share - she’s so sweet and I can’t wait until our “trash the dress” session later this month!

“When Jenny came to my house for my boudoir session as a surprise gift for my fiance I was really nervous because I had never done anything like it before. Jenny sat down with me and talked about what to expect and made me feel much more comfortable. She listened to what I had in mind and what kind of feel my fiance would like and captured it perfectly in the pictures. She had tons of ideas for poses and backgrounds and built on the few ideas I had. Once we talked and I got over being nervous I really had a lot of fun! When I saw the teaser pics on her blog I was blown away, I never imagined that I could look so hot! When I saw the complete set of pictures I was even more impressed, I had a really hard time picking which ones to use because they were all so good. Jenny gave me some great ideas for how to present the pictures to my (now) husband. When I gave him the pictures in an album and calendar on the night before our wedding he said it was the best gift he has ever received. I loved working with Jenny so much that I will never even consider using another photographer.”

Alex & Jessica ~ on the move

I had so much fun with A & J in taking their engagement photos this past Sunday. They had just packed their moving van to start their relocation to Reno, NV but were totally ready to take a quick trip downtown and over to Alki to catch the sunset with me! We started at the Market and Post Alley where we found lots of little alcoves and benches for them to smooch on (yay for PDA!), went to the bubble gum wall for some bubble blowing and walked along the market front to catch some amazing sun flare. We then hopped in the car and made it to Alki for a view of the skyline and a stroll on the sand. On the way back home we stopped in the SODO where Alex had earlier seen a street sign with “Nevada” on it - how appropriate for their last night in town. We were only there a moment though before a very nice security guard came along to shoo us off (we were a little close to the customs storage units apparently). The three of us are now bonded forever since we escaped the ‘po po’ together! I’m so happy to have met them and look forward to their wedding here next summer - thanks for a great evening Alex & Jessica!!
